Brussels Sprout Casserole
Brussels sprout casserole is a
hearty, oven-baked dish that turns simple elements right into a rich, savory
comfort food. Even people who are not big enthusiasts of Brussels sprouts
frequently experience this version due to the fact that roasting and baking
bring out a mild, nutty taste.
Brussels sprouts are blended with a
creamy sauce, cheese, and a crunchy topping to create a balanced texture—a soft

Ingredients
500–600 g Brussels sprouts, trimmed
and halved
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1½ cups milk (heat)
½ cup cream (non-compulsory for
additional richness)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt (modify to flavor)
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon mustard powder (elective,
provides depth)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or
mozzarella mix)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup breadcrumbs (for topping)
1 tablespoon olive oil or melted
butter (for topping)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Brussels Sprouts
Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
Bring a pot of salted water to a
boil.
Add Brussels sprouts and blanch for
four–five minutes until barely tender.
Drain and locate in cold water, then
drain again.
2. Make the Cream Sauce
In a pan, melt butter over medium
warmth.
Add onion and prepare dinner until
smooth.
Add garlic and cook dinner for 1
minute.
Stir in flour and prepare dinner for
1–2 minutes to shape a light roux.
Slowly whisk in warm milk to keep
away from lumps.
Add cream, salt, pepper, and mustard
powder.
Cook till the sauce thickens
(approximately four–five mins).
Stir in half of the cheddar cheese
till melted.
Three. Combine
Place Brussels sprouts in a baking
dish.
Pour the creamy sauce over them and
mix lightly.
Sprinkle final cheddar and Parmesan
on top.
4. Add Crunchy Topping
Mix breadcrumbs with olive oil or
melted butter.
Sprinkle frivolously over the
casserole.
5. Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden
and effervescent.
For extra crispiness, broil for
two–3 minutes at the given temperature (watch cautiously).
Serving Ideas
Serve warm as a fast dish with
roasted bird, grilled fish, or even a vegetarian essential like baked potatoes
or lentil loaf. It also works well for vacation meals or one's own family
dinners.
Tips
For a smoky taste, add a pinch of
paprika or cooked bacon bits (optional).
You can blend in mushrooms or
spinach for added greens.
Don’t overcook Brussels sprouts
during boiling—they must stay barely organized in order that they don’t turn
tender after baking.
