Hamburger Casserole

Hamburger Casserole

Hamburger casserole is a simple, comforting baked dish made with ground red meat, pasta or potatoes, tomato sauce, and cheese. It is famous as it makes use of primary ingredients, is budget-friendly, and can be organized in a single dish. It’s also smooth to customize based on what you have got at home.

Ingredients (primary model)

500 g flaked pork

1 medium onion, chopped

2–3 garlic cloves, minced

250–three hundred g pasta (macaroni, penne, or elbow)

1 can (400 g) tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes

2 tablespoons tomato paste (optional, for richer flavor)

1 teaspoon salt (modify to flavor)

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon paprika or chili powder (optionally available)

1 teaspoon dried oregano or blended herbs

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

1–2 tablespoons oil

Optional additions

Bell peppers (chopped)

Mushrooms

Corn or peas

Chili flakes for heat

Cream or milk for a creamier texture

Instructions

1. Cook the pasta.

Boil pasta in salted water till simply gentle (al dente). Drain and set apart. Do no longer overcook, because it will bake later.

2. Prepare the pork mixture.

Heat oil in a huge pan. Add chopped onions and cook until soft.

Add fresh ground red meat and prepare dinner until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if wanted.

3. Add flavor

Let it simmer for 5–10 minutes so the flavors combine. If using vegetables like peppers or mushrooms, add them at this stage.

4. Combine with pasta

Mix the cooked pasta into the red meat sauce till evenly covered.

5. Assemble the casserole.

Transfer the aggregate into a baking dish. Spread it flippantly. Top with shredded cheese.

6. Bake

Preheat oven to a hundred and eighty°C (350°F).

7. Serve

This allows it to set and makes it easier to reduce.

Variations

Cheesy Cream Version: Add a little milk or cream earlier than baking for a richer texture.

Vegetable-Heavy Version: Add carrots, peas, spinach, or zucchini for growth nutrients.

Low-carb Version: Replace pasta with cauliflower rice or sliced potatoes.

Spicy Version: Add chili flakes, jalapeños, or warm sauce.

Cheese Crust Version: Mix breadcrumbs with cheese on top for added crunch.

Tips

Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.

Don’t overcook pasta before baking; it softens more within the oven.

Let the casserole rest before helping keep it organized and flavorful.

Hamburger casserole is a versatile, filling dish that works properly for family meals, meal prep, or leftovers day after day.
