One-Pot Thanksgiving Dinner

One-Pot Thanksgiving Dinner

This one-pot Thanksgiving dinner is a simplified model of the traditional holiday meal—the whole thing cooked together in a large pot or deep roasting pan, saving time, effort, and cleanup. It still gives you all of the comforting flavors: roasted turkey, savory stuffing, veggies, and rich gravy.

Ingredients

1 whole chicken (3–4 lb) or turkey pieces (legs, thighs, or breast)

2 cups bread cubes (for stuffing)

1 medium onion, chopped

2 celery stalks, chopped

2 carrots, chopped

3–four garlic cloves, minced

three medium potatoes, chopped

1 cup inexperienced beans (or peas)

3 tbsp butter or oil

2–3 cups chook or vegetable broth

1 tsp salt (adjust to flavor)

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp dried rosemary

1 tsp paprika

Optional: cranberry sauce for serving

Instructions

1. Prepare the bottom.

Heat butter or oil in a big heavy pot or Dutch oven over medium warmth. Add onion, celery, carrots, and garlic. Cook for 5–7 mins until slightly tender and aromatic.

2. Build the stuffing layer.

Stir in bread cubes, thyme, rosemary, and a dash of broth. Mix gently so the bread absorbs flavor but doesn’t flip delicate. This forms a light stuffing layer at the bottom of the pot.

3. Add greens

Layer potatoes and green beans (or peas) over the stuffing mixture. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and paprika flippantly.

4. Add the turkey.

Place the hen or turkey pieces on top of the veggies. Season the meat with a bit more salt, pepper, and herbs for taste.

5. Add broth.

Pour broth carefully around the aspects of the pot (not without delay over the top) till it reaches approximately midway up the elements. This creates steam for even cooking and allows shaping a light gravy.

6. Cook

Cover the pot with a lid and simmer on low heat for 60–90 mins, or bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 1.5–2 hours. The dish is prepared when the turkey is fully cooked (internal temperature 165°F / 74°C) and the vegetables are smooth.

7. Finish and serve

Let it rest for 10 minutes earlier than serving. Gently mix the lowest stuffing layer with the juices to create a flavorful base. Serve warm with cranberry sauce if favored.

Result

You’ll get an entire Thanksgiving-fashion meal in a single pot: juicy turkey, smooth veggies, seasoned stuffing, and a mild natural gravy. It’s a sensible option for small gatherings or absolutely everyone who desires the vacation taste without cooking a couple of dishes.
