Skinny Orange Chicken
Recipe
This more healthy version of classic orange chook maintains
all of the taste but skips the deep-frying and heavy sugar. The chook is gently
coated and sautéed, then tossed in a tangy, barely candy orange sauce.
Ingredients (Serves
2–3)
Chicken:
2 medium fowl breasts, cut into chew-sized pieces
2 tbsp cornstarch (or arrowroot starch for
gluten-unfastened)
1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
Salt and pepper, to flavor
Orange sauce:
1/2 cup sparkling orange juice (1 big orange)
1 tsp orange zest
1–2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp clean ginger, grated
1 tsp cornstarch combined with 2 tsp water (slurry)
Garnish (optionally
available):
Sesame seeds
Sliced green onions
Instructions
1. Prepare the fowl:
Toss chicken portions in cornstarch, salt, and pepper till
coated.
Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium warmness.
Cook bird for 5–7 mins till golden and cooked thru. Remove
from pan and set aside.
2. Make the sauce:
In the identical pan, sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds
until aromatic.
Stir in orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, rice vinegar,
and honey.
Add the cornstarch slurry, stirring until the sauce thickens
(1–2 minutes).
3. Combine bird and
sauce:
Return hen to the pan. Toss till lightly covered in the
orange sauce.
Cook for some other 1–2 minutes to heat through.
4. Serve:
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
Serve along steamed broccoli, cauliflower rice, or brown
rice for a whole meal.

Bake the chicken: Preheat oven to 400°F (two hundred°C),
