Broccolini, Chicken Sausage & Orzo Skillet is an easy, flavorful one-pan meal that combines smooth veggies, savory chook sausage, and small rice-shaped pasta. Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

3–four hen sausages, sliced

1 bunch broccolini, trimmed and chopped

1 cup orzo pasta

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups of bird broth

½ teaspoon salt (regulate to taste)

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon purple pepper flakes (elective)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Lemon zest (optionally available)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Heat the skillet:

Place a big skillet over medium warmth and upload olive oil.

2. Cook the sausage:

Add sliced bird sausage to the skillet. Cook for about four to five mins, stirring now and again, till browned and slightly crispy.

3. Add garlic and broccolini:

Stir in minced garlic and chopped broccolini. Cook for approximately 2–three minutes until the broccolini begins to soften and the garlic becomes aromatic.

4. Toast the orzo:

Add the orzo pasta at once to the skillet and stir for 1–2 minutes. Toasting the orzo slightly complements its nutty flavor.

5. Add broth and seasonings:

Pour in the bird broth and add salt, black pepper, and crimson pepper flakes if you use them. Stir nicely to mix all ingredients.

6. Simmer:

Bring the combination to a mild simmer. Reduce warmth to medium-low and cook dinner for about 10–12 minutes, stirring on occasion, till the orzo becomes smooth and a maximum of the liquid is absorbed.

7. Finish the dish:

Stir in Parmesan cheese and lemon juice. If preferred, upload a touch of lemon zest for extra brightness.

8. Serve:

Remove from warmness and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve hot with additional Parmesan on top.

Tips

If the skillet becomes dry earlier than the orzo is absolutely cooked, upload a small splash of broth or water.

You can alternatively use spinach or kale if broccolini is unavailable.
