Chicken with Florentine Sauce (Creamy Spinach Chicken)

Chicken with Florentine sauce is a rich, creamy dish made with tender chicken breasts cooked in a garlic, cream, and spinach sauce. It is comforting, flavorful, and frequently served with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.

Two–three boneless fowl breasts

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tsp paprika (non-obligatory)

2 tbsp olive oil or butter

1 small onion (finely chopped)

2 cups clean spinach leaves

1 cup cooking cream (or heavy cream)

½ cup milk (non-obligatory, for lighter sauce)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

½ tsp Italian herbs or dried oregano

1 tbsp lemon juice (non-obligatory)

Instructions

1. Prepare the chicken

Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both facets with salt, black pepper, and paprika. This allows building taste and gives a light golden color while cooked.

2. Cook the chicken.

Heat olive oil or butter in a big pan over medium warmth. Add the fowl and cook dinner for 5–7 minutes according to aspect until golden brown and completely cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.

3. Make the base sauce.

In the equal pan, upload chopped onions and cook for two–three minutes until gentle. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until aromatic.

4. Add spinach.

Toss in the spinach leaves and prepare dinner until wilted. This takes simply 1–2 mins.

5. Make the Florentine sauce.

Pour in the cream and milk (if using). Stir nicely and permit it to simmer lightly. Add Parmesan cheese and stir till the sauce becomes clean and barely thick.

6. Season the sauce.

Add Italian herbs, salt, and black pepper. If you want a barely tangy taste, add a small splash of lemon juice.

7. Combine bird and sauce.

Return the cooked hen to the pan. Spoon the sauce over the hen and allow it to simmer for any other three–five minutes so the flavors combine well.
