Church supper spaghetti is a
comforting, crowd-alluring baked pasta dish regularly served at gatherings,
potlucks, and church dinners. It’s hearty, clean to make in large batches, and
full of rich tomato flavor, smooth pasta, and melted cheese. This version is
easy, adaptable, and ideal for feeding a collection.
Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) spaghetti
2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive oil)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb (450 g) lean red meat or ground
bird (optional)
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (14–15 oz) diced tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp sugar (optionally available,
balances acidity)
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
½ tsp chili flakes (non-compulsory,
for warmth)
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup water or broth
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Cook the spaghetti.
Bring a huge pot of salted water to
a boil. Cook spaghetti till just al dente in step with bundle commands. Drain
and set apart. Toss lightly with a bit of oil to prevent sticking.
2. Prepare the sauce.
Heat oil in a massive pan over
medium warmth. Add chopped onions and sauté until tender and translucent, about
5 minutes. Add garlic and cook dinner for every other minute till aromatic.
If using meat, upload ground pork or
chicken now. Cook till browned and completely cooked, breaking it apart because
it cooks. Drain extra fat if essential.
3. Build the sauce.
Stir in tomato sauce, diced
tomatoes, and tomato paste. Add sugar, oregano, basil, chili flakes, salt, and
pepper. Pour in water or broth and mix properly.
Let the sauce simmer for 15–20 minutes,
stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened and flavorful.
4. Combine pasta and sauce.
Add the cooked spaghetti into the
sauce and toss until completely lined. Make sure the pasta absorbs the flavors
flippantly.
Five. Assemble for baking.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Transfer half of the spaghetti combination into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle
a layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Add the remaining spaghetti on top,
then end with grated cheese.
6. Bake
Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or
till the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
7. Serve
Let it rest for five–10 mins before
serving so it sets barely. Garnish with clean parsley if preferred.
Tips & Variations
Vegetarian model: Skip the meat and
upload mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, or spinach.
Extra creamy model: Mix in some
spoonfuls of cream cheese or ricotta before baking.
Spicy kick: Add extra chili flakes
or a sprint of warm sauce to the sauce.
Make beforehand: Assemble the dish
in advance within the day, refrigerate it, and bake when ready to serve.
Feeding a crowd: Double the recipe
easily for large gatherings.
