1 can (10.5 oz) cream of bird soup (or mushroom soup)

½ cup bitter cream or simple yogurt

½ cup milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup cornmeal

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon sugar (elective)

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1 huge egg

¼ cup melted butter or oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the filling.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a massive skillet, heat oil or butter over medium warmth. Add chopped onions and sauté till soft and barely golden. Stir inside the cooked chook, corn, and combined vegetables. Cook for three to five minutes until the whole lot is nicely combined.

Add the cream of chicken soup, bitter cream, and milk. Mix nicely till easy and creamy. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for two–three mins. Remove from warmth and stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.

2. Assemble the casserole.

Grease a baking dish (approximately 9x13 inches). Pour the hen aggregate flippantly into the dish. Spread it out so it covers the bottom flippantly.

3. Make the cornbread topping.

In a mixing bowl, integrate cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In any other bowl, whisk milk, egg, and melted butter together. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry components and stir until simply mixed. Do not overmix.

Carefully spoon or pour the cornbread batter over the bird's leg. Spread gently so it covers most of the floor.

4. Bake

Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 30–40 mins, or till the cornbread topping is golden brown and cooked through. You can take a look at it by way of inserting a toothpick into the cornbread layer—if it comes out clean, it’s done.

During the last five mins of baking, sprinkle the closing cheddar cheese on top for a cheesy crust.

Five. Serve

Let the casserole cool for 5–10 mins earlier than serving. This helps it set and makes it less complicated to reduce. Serve warm with an easy salad or steamed vegetables.
