Cranberry Orange Cake

Cranberry Orange Cake is a soft, wet, and lightly tangy cake that mixes the intense citrus taste of orange with the tart sweetness of cranberries. It’s popular in the course of excursion seasons; however, it works 12 months round as a refreshing dessert or tea-time snack.

Flavor Profile

The cake has a balanced flavor:

Oranges provide citrusy freshness and aroma.

A gentle vanilla-scented crumb ties the whole thing together.

The combination feels equally rich and refreshing, making it exclusive from heavier chocolate or undeniable vanilla desserts.

Ingredients

Dry ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

Wet elements:

½ cup unsalted butter (softened)

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

¾ cup clean orange juice

1 tbsp orange zest

½ cup yogurt or milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

Add-ins:

1 to 1½ cups cranberries (clean or dried)

Optional glaze:

½ cup powdered sugar

1–2 tbsp orange juice

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a cake pan.

2. Cream butter and sugar: In a separate bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This step gives the cake its gentle texture.

3. Add eggs and flavoring: Mix in eggs separately. Add orange zest and vanilla extract.

4. Combine moist components: Stir orange juice and yogurt (or milk) into the combination.

5. Mix batter: Gradually add dry substances into wet aggregates. Stir lightly until simply combined. Do not overmix.

6. Fold in cranberries: Lightly coat cranberries with a piece of flour (to prevent sinking), then fold them into the batter.

7. Bake: Pour batter into an organized pan and bake for 35–45 mins, or till a toothpick inserted inside the center comes out easy.

8. Cool: Let cake cool for 10–15 mins before doing away with it from the pan.

9. Optional glaze: Mix powdered sugar and orange juice, then drizzle over cooled cake.

Texture & Appearance

The cake is golden with pink cranberry jewels scattered inside. The crumb is gentle and moist because of orange juice and yogurt. When sliced, you get lovely bursts of tart cranberry in each chew.

Tips

Use clean orange juice for stronger citrus flavor.

Toss cranberries in a bit of flour to keep them frivolously distributed.

Do not overbake now, or the cake might also come to be dry.

For greater richness, upload a tablespoon of melted butter into the glaze.

Serving Ideas

Serve with tea or espresso.

Pair with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Dust lightly with powdered sugar for an easy end.

The Cranberry Orange Cake is a simple but stylish dessert that mixes sweet, tangy, and citrus flavors in ideal harmony.
