Smoked Sausage with Pasta
Smoked sausage with pasta is a
short, comforting, and flavorful dish that combines savory sausage, smooth
pasta, and a rich, barely creamy, totally tomato-based sauce. It’s ideal for
busy weeknights as it comes together in approximately half an hour and uses
easy substances.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
300–400 g pasta (penne, fusilli, or
spaghetti)
250–300 g smoked sausage, sliced
into skinny rounds
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2–3 cloves garlic, minced
1 bell pepper (crimson or green),
sliced (optionally available, however, adds taste)
2 tablespoons oil or butter
2 tablespoons tomato paste (optional
for richer flavor)
1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika
works exceptionally)
½ teaspoon chili flakes
(non-compulsory for heat)
½ teaspoon black pepper
Salt to flavor
½ teaspoon dried oregano or Italian
seasoning
½ cup milk or cream (optionally
available for the creamy model)
Grated cheese for topping (elective)
Fresh parsley or coriander for
garnish
Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta
Add the pasta and cook consistent
with package instructions till al dente (or however cooked). Drain and set
apart. Save approximately ½ cup of pasta water if you want to loosen the sauce
later.
2. Cook the Smoked Sausage
Heat oil or butter in a big pan over
medium warmth. Add the sliced smoked sausage and fry for three–five minutes
till lightly browned. This step enhances the smoky flavor and offers the
sausage a slightly crispy edge. Once done, take it away from the pan and set it
apart.
3. Sauté Vegetables
In the identical pan, add chopped
onions and cook dinner until gentle and translucent. Add garlic and cook for
every other 30 seconds till fragrant. If you're using bell pepper, upload it
now and sauté for two–3 minutes till barely smooth.
Four. Make the Sauce
Add tomato paste (if using) and stir
for 1 minute. Then add diced tomatoes or tomato sauce. Mix well and permit it
to simmer for 5–7 mins so the flavors combine.
Season the sauce with paprika, chili
flakes, black pepper, salt, and oregano. Stir everything collectively. If you
decide on a creamy version, pour in milk or cream at this degree and mix till
easy.
Five. Combine Everything
Add the cooked smoked sausage lower
back into the pan. Stir properly so the sausage is covered in the sauce. Then
add the cooked pasta and lightly blend the whole lot together. If the sauce is
just too thick, add a touch of reserved pasta water to loosen it.
6. Simmer and Finish
Let everything simmer together for
2–3 mins so the pasta absorbs the taste. Taste and regulate seasoning if
wished.
Serving
Serve hot, topped with grated cheese
and sparkling parsley or coriander. You also can upload more chili flakes if
you like it spicy.
Tips & Variations
Vegetable enhancement: Add
mushrooms, spinach, or peas for added nutrients.
Cheesy model: Mix in mozzarella or
cheddar for a richer dish.
Smokier flavor: Use smoked paprika
or grilled sausage.
Healthier choice: Use whole wheat
pasta and decrease cheese.
This smoked sausage pasta is hearty,
flavorful, and really easy to customize. It’s perfect for your own family
dinners or when you want something pleasant without spending an excessive
amount of time inside the kitchen.
