Chicken–Snow Pea
Stir-Fry
Overview:
Chicken–Snow Pea Stir-Fry is a quick, healthful, and
colourful dish that’s perfect for weeknight dinners. It combines tender hen
with crisp, sweet snow peas and a flavorful sauce that’s savory with a touch of
nuttiness from sesame oil. This stir-fry is mild yet pleasurable and may be
served over rice, noodles, or loved on its personal.
Ingredients (Serves
2-3)
2 medium chook breasts, thinly sliced
1 cup snow peas, trimmed
1 small carrot, julienned (non-obligatory, adds colour and
crunch)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or hoisin sauce for a vegetarian
alternative)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil for stir-frying
2 teaspoons cornstarch (non-obligatory, for thickening)
2 tablespoons water (for mixing with cornstarch)
Salt and pepper to flavor
Sesame seeds for garnish (optionally available)
Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Step 1: Prepare the
Sauce
If you choose a
thicker sauce, dissolve cornstarch in water and upload it to the combination.
Set apart. This will coat the chicken and greens, giving the stir-fry a sleek,
flavorful end.
Step 2: Cook the
Chicken
Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-excessive heat.
Add the chicken slices in a single layer, ensuring they
aren’t crowded. This permits the fowl to sear well.
Season lightly with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for four–five
minutes till the fowl is normally cooked and slightly golden.
Tip: Don’t overcook the hen here—it's going to prepare
dinner further when blended with the veggies.
Step 3: Stir-Fry the
Vegetables
In the same pan, upload garlic and ginger. Stir for about 30
seconds until aromatic, being careful no longer to burn them.
Add snow peas (and carrots if using). Stir-fry for 2–three
mins. The greens should remain crisp-smooth and preserve their vibrant shade.
Tip: High heat is prime for stir-frying. It chefs vegetables
fast while preserving them crisp.
Step four: Combine
Chicken and Vegetables
Return the bird to the pan.
Pour the organized sauce over the chicken and vegetables.
Stir the whole lot together for 1–2 minutes, making sure the
sauce flippantly coats all components and thickens slightly.
Taste and adjust seasoning with a touch extra salt or soy
sauce if needed.
Optional
Enhancements:
Add a pinch of pink pepper flakes or some drops of chili oil
for warmth.
Squeeze a bit lime or lemon juice at the quit for a
brilliant, tangy flavor.
Step five: Serve and
Garnish
Transfer the stir-fry to a serving dish.
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top for a nutty flavor and
additional visible enchantment.
Serve warm with steamed jasmine rice, brown rice, or cooked
noodles.
Tips for Perfect
Stir-Fry
Prep Ingredients First: Stir-frying is fast, so have all
veggies, chook, and sauce geared up before turning on the warmth.
Cut Uniformly: Slice chicken and vegetables into comparable
sizes to ensure even cooking.
Don’t Overcrowd the Pan: Cook in batches if wished. Overcrowding
reduces warmness and consequences in steaming as opposed to searing.
Use High Heat: Quick cooking at excessive heat preserves the
texture and taste of ingredients.
Customize: Add mushrooms, bell peppers, water chestnuts, or
baby corn to differ flavors and textures.
Tofu–Snow Pea Stir-Fry: Swap fowl with firm tofu for a
vegetarian version. Press and dice the tofu, then pan-fry until golden earlier
than combining with veggies.
Beef–Snow Pea Stir-Fry: Use thinly sliced beef sirloin or
flank steak. Marinate in short with soy sauce and a pinch of cornstarch for
tenderness.
Noodle Stir-Fry: Toss cooked rice noodles or lo mein with
the fowl and snow peas for a complete one-pan meal.
