Skillet Chicken and
Chorizo Paella
A vibrant, one-pan Spanish-stimulated dish offering soft
chook, smoky chorizo, and saffron-infused rice. Perfect for a own family dinner
or weekend treat.
Ingredients (Serves
4)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 lb (450 g) chicken thighs, boneless, cut into chew-sized
pieces
6 oz. (a hundred and seventy g) chorizo, sliced
1 onion, finely chopped
1 red bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 half cups paella rice (or quick-grain rice)
1 tsp smoked paprika
half tsp saffron threads (non-compulsory, soak in 2 tbsp
heat water)
4 cups chicken broth, warm
1 cup frozen peas
Salt and pepper, to flavor
Lemon wedges, for serving
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
1. Brown the chicken:
Heat olive oil in a huge skillet over medium-high heat. Add
chook portions and cook dinner until golden on all facets, about 5–7 minutes.
Remove and set aside.
2. Cook the chorizo
and veggies:
In the identical skillet, upload chorizo slices and prepare
dinner 2–3 mins until they release their oils. Stir in onion, bell pepper, and
garlic; sauté until softened, approximately five minutes.
3. Toast the rice and
spices:
Add rice, smoked paprika, and saffron with soaking water.
Stir for 1–2 mins to coat the rice and launch the aromas.
4. Simmer with broth:
Pour in warm hen broth and go back the bird to the pan. Stir
once, then allow simmer uncovered over medium warmness. Avoid common stirring;
the intention is to create a crispy bottom layer called socarrat. Cook 15–20
mins till rice is soft and most liquid is absorbed.
Scatter peas on top over the last five minutes of cooking.
Cover gently to steam if wanted.
6. Rest and serve:
Remove from heat, permit stand 5 mins. Garnish with parsley
and serve with lemon wedges for a fresh, zesty finish.
Tips
Smoky taste: Add extra smoked paprika before serving.
Seafood twist: Replace chorizo with shrimp or mussels within
the final 5–7 minutes.
Perfect crust: Avoid stirring after adding broth; the
marginally crispy backside is vital.
This skillet paella is a flavor-packed, clean one-pan meal,
with juicy bird, wealthy chorizo, gentle veggies, and saffron-scented rice.
It’s colorful, aromatic, and ideal for a comforting dinner.
