Tomato Flatbread Recipe

 

A simple, crispy flatbread crowned with juicy tomatoes, aromatic herbs, and non-compulsory cheese. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

2 cups all-cause flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp sugar

1 tbsp olive oil

¾ cup warm water

1 tsp immediately yeast

For the Topping:

2 large ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp dried oregano or thyme

Salt and pepper, to flavor

Fresh basil leaves (optional)

½ cup shredded mozzarella, feta, or goat cheese (non-compulsory)

Optional Enhancements:

1 small crimson onion, thinly sliced

1 tbsp solar-dried tomatoes, chopped

Pinch of chili flakes for heat

Balsamic glaze for completing

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough

In a massive mixing bowl, integrate the flour, salt, sugar, and immediately yeast. Stir well to distribute lightly.

Add heat water and olive oil, mixing with a spoon till it paperwork a sticky dough.

Transfer the dough to a gently floured surface. Knead for 5–7 mins until easy, elastic, and slightly springy to touch.

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a smooth fabric, and allow it upward thrust in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or till it doubles in length.

2. Preheat and Shape the Flatbread

Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). If using a baking stone, vicinity it within the oven to warmth; otherwise, use a parchment-lined baking tray.

Vegan Option: Skip cheese or use a plant-based opportunity. Olive oil, herbs, and garlic on my own are flavorful.

Storage

Store leftover flatbread in an airtight field at room temperature for up to two days.

Reheat within the oven at one hundred eighty°C (350°F) for 5–7 minutes to restore crispiness.

The flatbread also can be frozen unbaked.  Bake at once from frozen, including some more minutes to cooking time.
