1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional: chopped clean basil or parsley for garnish

Preparation

1. Start by way of preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a medium baking dish with a small quantity of olive oil so the ravioli will no longer stick while baking.

2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium warmth. Add the minced garlic and prepare dinner for approximately 30 seconds till it turns fragrant. Stir within the marinara or tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer gently for about three–four minutes. Season it with salt and black pepper consistent with your flavor. This step allows deepening the flavor of the sauce.

3. Spread a skinny layer of the sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. This prevents the ravioli from sticking and adds flavor to the bottom layer.

4. Place half of the spinach ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Spoon a little ricotta cheese evenly over the ravioli, then sprinkle approximately 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese on top. Add a layer of the prepared tomato sauce over the cheese.

5. Repeat the layers with the final ravioli, ricotta, sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Finally, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese flippantly over the top. The Parmesan will create a slightly crisp and flavorful golden layer for the duration of baking.

6. Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and refrigerate it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 20 minutes. After that, remove the foil and continue baking for every other 10–15 mins till the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
