Creamy Spinach & Feta Chicken
Casserole (Under six hundred phrases)
A rich, comforting baked dish with
tender bird, creamy sauce, spinach, and tangy feta cheese. Perfect for dinner
with rice, pasta, or bread.
Ingredients (Serves four–5)
500g chook breast (cut into
chunk-sized pieces)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
three–four garlic cloves (minced)
200g sparkling spinach (or frozen,
thawed, and tinned)
200ml cooking cream (or heavy cream)
100ml milk
120g feta cheese (crumbled)
100g mozzarella or cheddar
(non-obligatory, for extra creaminess)
1 tsp dried oregano
half a tsp black pepper
half tsp salt (modify to taste)
half of tsp chili flakes (optional)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp all-purpose flour (optional,
for thickening)
Instructions
1. Prepare the fowl.
Heat olive oil in a huge pan over
medium heat. Add chicken pieces and season gently with salt and pepper. Cook
for 5–7 mins till the bird is gently golden but not fully cooked through.
Remove and set apart.
2. Cook aromatics.
In the identical pan, upload chopped
onion. Sauté for 3–4 mins till tender. Add garlic and prepare dinner for every
other 30 seconds until aromatic.
3. Add spinach.
Add spinach and cook dinner till
wilted (fresh spinach will reduce quickly). If using frozen spinach, prepare
dinner till excess moisture evaporates.
4. Make the creamy sauce.
Lower the heat. Add cream and milk,
stirring well. If you want a thicker sauce, sprinkle in flour and mix quickly
to avoid lumps. Add oregano, chili flakes, black pepper, and salt.
5. Combine bird and cheese.
Return hen to the pan. Add lemon
juice and stir the whole lot together. Let it simmer for 3–5 mins for flavor
combinations.
6. Add feta.
Stir in most of the feta cheese,
reserving a bit for topping. The feta will soften barely and add a salty, tangy
flavor.
7. Bake the casserole.
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Transfer the combination into a baking dish. Sprinkle crumbled feta and
mozzarella on top. Bake for 15–20 minutes till bubbly and gently golden.
8. Serve
Let it relax for 5 mins earlier than
serving. It pairs well with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or garlic bread.
Tips
You can replace chicken with
mushrooms or chickpeas for a vegetarian model.
Add solar-dried tomatoes for added
flavor.
Don’t overcook the bird in the
pan—it's going to finish cooking in the oven.
